The GALEO Impact Fund proudly announces our endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris as she seeks election to the White House.
While the GALEO Impact Fund has endorsed candidates before, this is the first time we have endorsed a candidate for President of the United States. Since coming into office in 2021, the Biden-Harris Administration has led our country out of a global pandemic that disproportionately ravaged the Latino community, expanded access to affordable healthcare, invested in combating climate change, and created 15 million jobs while also improving our nation’s infrastructure. Just last month, the Biden-Harris administration made the historic move to allow over 500,000 spouses of U.S. citizens without legal status to apply for lawful permanent residence without leaving the United States. This change is expected to benefit more than 33,000 Georgia families alone.
“Our decision to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris was made after carefully considering the Biden-Harris administration’s accomplishments and Vice President Harris’ vision for the future. Throughout her time as Vice President, Kamala Harris has proven herself to be a leader who is committed to improving the lives of our working families and remains a forceful advocate for the preservation of our nation’s democracy,” said Hector Gutierrez and Brenda Lopez Romero, GALEO Impact Fund Board Chair and Vice-Chair, respectively. “We are confident that Kamala Harris will build on the progress made in furthering the quality of life for Latino families, restoring and expanding the rights of all Americans, and healing existing divisions that others would seek to enflame.”
As we look toward Election Day, we know that Georgia voters hold the keys to the White House. That is why the GALEO Impact Fund urges all Latino voters in Georgia to make their voices heard. Our community’s engagement and participation are crucial in shaping the future of our localities, state, and nation. We will continue to inform Georgia’s Latino community about what’s at stake in this election and turn out voters in every part of Georgia.
