GALEO IMPACT FUND STATEMENT ON IMPEACHMENT EFFORT AGAINST SECRETARY MAYORKAS
(Norcross, GA) – Today, GALEO Impact Fund released a statement regarding the attempt to impeach U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas:
“We condemn the actions of the House Republicans as they move forward with the impeachment hearings of Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. Time and time again, MAGA Republicans have ignored the humanity of immigrants by using hearings like these to push their xenophobic and racist agenda,” says Jerry Gonzalez, CEO of GALEO Impact Fund.
“But, their shameless attempts to further anti-immigrant sentiment will not go unnoticed. GALEO Impact Fund will continue fighting against MAGA Republicans who endanger the livelihoods of our Black and Brown immigrant communities. We urge our representatives instead to come up with an overdue comprehensive immigration reform that expands pathways to citizenship and asylum.”
