Juan Mendoza, a South Bend native of Mexican descent, was shaped by his parents’ blue-collar work ethic and began working at 13. After earning his degree from Indiana University, he rose from Teller to Vice President at Ameris Bank. In Atlanta, he’s become a recognized community advocate—leading the Old Fourth Ward Business Association, co-founding the HYPE Think Tank for young Latino entrepreneurs, and earning honors like the Georgia Hispanic Chamber’s 2024 Young Professional Leader of the Year.

Eren is a proud Hispanic immigrant, IT professional, and a 30-year Roswell resident. Eren has spent decades giving back, from volunteering in schools and scouting to working the voting polls in Fulton County to ensure every vote is counted.
A Monterrey Institute of Technology graduate and a former International student at West Georgia University, Eren has dedicated her time outside of work to uplifting her neighbors. She has served as a PTA mom and Scout volunteer, helped translate, cook, and organize logistics for local causes.
Eren is running for the Roswell City Council to promote transparency, teamwork, and more innovative stewardship of the city’s finances and natural resources. She believes local government works best when the community is actively involved, and she’s ready to lead with experience, empathy, and integrity.

Marlene Taylor-Crawford has spent over 23 years serving her Gwinnett community as an educator, advocate, and elected official. A proud Afro-Caribbean Latina, she brings a strong voice for equity, diversity, and inclusion to everything she does.
Elected to the Lawrenceville City Council, Post 4 in 2022, she works to ensure the government is transparent and responsive to all residents. Marlene has been recognized with awards such as the Outstanding Georgia Citizen Award (2025) and the Nikki T. Randall Servant Leadership Award (2020). She has served on Gwinnett County Public Schools’ Educational Equity Teams. Proud of her African Caribbean Latino heritage, Marlene is committed to her community with integrity and heart.

Abigail Guzman is a small business owner, a mom, and a proud Gainesville resident running for City Council in Ward 4. As the owner of Consuelo and Pristine Clean, she understands the real-life challenges and opportunities that come with a growing area like Downtown, and is committed to making sure local voices are part of that progress.
Abigail stays active in the community through her work with WomenSource and the Gainesville City School System PTA Boards. Whether it’s pushing for stronger schools, better job opportunities, or safe spaces for families, she shows up and puts in the work.
Her Mexican-American heritage gives her a perspective that reflects the heart of Ward 4—diverse, hardworking, and full of potential. Abigail is running to be a steady, honest voice who listens first and leads with care.

Dr. Tara Overzat is a trauma therapist and community advocate running for the District 3 seat on the Sandy Springs City Council. Raised in New York and South Florida by her Puerto Rican mother, Tara brings a deep appreciation for diverse communities and the challenges they face. With years of experience helping people through difficult moments, she knows how local policies impact everyday lives.
Tara is running to bring a steady, solution-focused voice that prioritizes listening, collaboration, and true representation. Her goals include improving walkability, supporting smart growth, expanding housing options, and strengthening ties with schools and hospitals.
Tara is ready to serve with empathy and professionalism because she believes the local government should reflect and support all its residents.

Anthony Pacheco is a Georgia native, a dedicated community organizer, and a proud son of a resilient Mexican single mother. A first-generation college graduate, Anthony has spent his career advocating for immigrant and voting rights across Georgia.
As a husband, father, and community advocate, Anthony centers the voices of families and Black elders, to young voters, Spanish-speaking neighbors, and those too often left out of the conversation. Through his work with Conyers University and service on the Keep Conyers-Rockdale Beautiful board, Anthony is already making a difference, promoting civic engagement and leading efforts to build a safer, greener community in the wake of the Bio-Lab explosion.

Nicole Tirado is a proud Nuyorican, born and raised in the Bronx by a single mother who worked as a Correction Officer. Her mother instilled in her the belief in the power of education, which she carried with her through public schools. She entered college early with honors from the State University of New York.
As a Lead Tech Program Manager, Nicole brings collaboration, strategy, and problem-solving to her public service. From Texas to London to Miami, she’s remained rooted in service, whether advocating for immigrant children or supporting families as a Court-Appointed Special Advocate. Now in Marietta, she’s committed to uplifting families and ensuring leadership reflects the city’s full diversity.

Peter Hubbard is a native of Tennessee and holds a degree in Physics, Mathematics, and International Affairs. With 15 years of experience in the energy sector, he specializes in resource planning, market analysis, and clean energy solutions. In 2019, Peter founded the Georgia Center for Energy Solutions to advocate for renewable energy and lower power bills. He also develops solar and energy storage projects that support clean energy in various states. Living in Atlanta’s Edgewood neighborhood since 2015, he is dedicated to building a sustainable energy future for his family and community.

Alicia’s career includes transformational roles in nonprofit leadership, Medicaid services, and public engagement. She’s passionate about creating equitable opportunities and strengthening communities through strategic innovation and collaboration.
Dr. Alicia M. Johnson is running to bring her expertise in organizational leadership and data driven solutions to tackle social challenges and ensure that everyone has access to the resources they need to thrive.
