Issa Solís

Issa Solís was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, to two first-generation immigrants from Nicaragua. She is very proud of her Nicaraguan heritage. She hopes to someday give back to immigrants like her parents.

Issa is a Kennesaw State University senior majoring in Theatre and Performance Studies and a minor in Latin American Studies. She is the social media intern for the local nonprofit Illuminate Atlanta, which aims to provide free photography education to young people in underserved and underrepresented communities.

Issa’s most significant passion lies in art and community engagement. She is blessed to be involved in local art activism with the New Connections Collision Project, a collaboration between Kennesaw State University, the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice, and the Alliance Theatre. When Issa graduates, she hopes to attend graduate school to receive a master’s degree and continue to work in art and community engagement.
